It’s interesting how we speak of broken hearts, when our heart is extremely resilient. It has been beating every day and moment since we were in our mother’s womb. If you are reading this, you are still here… it has not stopped, not even once.

In reference to emotional pain, perhaps it is NOT our heart that ‘breaks’ instead it is the mind that refuses to ‘break’ from the version it created because it erroneously believes it is the ONLY or best version available.

So it holds on when spaces end. It tortures us with the incessant questions of ‘why’…

  • Why did he stop loving me?

  • Why did she not return my messages?

  • Why did I not get accepted into…

  • Why did Person X die?

  • Why does he/she not want me?

  • Why can’t we conceive a child?

  • Why did I miscarry?

  • Why did we lose a child?

Love has infinite ways in which it can manifest, move and bloom in our lives. It may not be the version, person, situation you have created in your head. Do not stifle love. The mind is too rigid for love to thrive. Let go, my love. Be gentle with yourself. Mourn the loss if you need to and lovingly release it. Odo Nyera Fie Kwan (Love Never Loses it’s way home, Ashanti proverb).
