My heart is my superpower. Despite a few breaks, she always heals and comes back stronger.” – M. Granado
I wrote this today a year ago and in a year my thoughts and perspective continue to evolve. I no longer believe it is our heart that breaks, for the heart is a powerful muscle that has been beating ever since we were in utero. Instead, I think the source of a portion of our emotional pain is because our mind refuses to break from the version it constructed. The mind often uses the past to project the future and/or will make long term choices based on short term options.
Life is an adventure, and despite how much your mind tries to convince you; YOU DO NOT HAVE ALL THE ANSWERS SWAY! (LOL in my Kanye voice). Our mind holds onto versions it creates because it literally cannot see any other option and it erroneously believes because it cannot see it, other options do not exist.
- Can you see gravity?
- Can you see oxygen?
- Can you see radio frequencies?
- On cloudy, rainy, snowy days when the sun is not visible, does that mean it is not there?
- Can you see the other planets without the aid of a device?
- Can you see your organs without the aid of a device?
- Can you see your thoughts? No, but….
The mind is a clever character. It has the ability to imagine the absolute worst but is perplexed in imagining the absolute best…interesting indeed.
Perhaps this is a result of our society, the saturation of the doom and gloom narrative. Perchance due to socialization or perspective. Whatever the source, it is understandable. Unfortunately, our academic curriculum did not include perhaps some of the most important and valuable skills:
- Flowing
- Grounding
- Mindfulness
- The Art of Trusting
- The Art of Letting Go
- The Art of Forgiveness
- The Art of Communication
- Respecting Others Journeys
- Becoming a Connoisseur of You
- Cultivating & Trusting your Intuition
- The Beauty and Necessity of Healthy Me Space
As long as you are alive, it is not too late to CHOOSE a different way.
