You cannot push, pull, drag or carry anyone towards or away from anything. Instead, sustainable change only occurs when one's motivation is internal.
You may desire a loved one to engage in a certain behavior (exercise, nutrition, financial responsibility, etc) or to stop something that is no longer serving their highest good (I.e. smoking, unhealthy relationships, pessimism, etc) but no matter how much you want this for him/her IF they have not made 'this' a priority then sustainable change will not occur.
One of the most difficult things to do is accept that EVERYONE is on their own journey (even your loved ones) and it is not your responsibility to save them. Instead, all you can do is continue to become the best version of you which may serve as an example. When and if they are ready to make a change they will begin the work and follow up with you...THIS is when and where your efforts will be effective because THEIR commitment is internal. -Misha N Granado
