One of the most common yet subtle acts of violence we commit against ourselves is when we remain in spaces where we are not valued and appreciated.
Love will NEVER require you to sacrifice your health (mental, emotional, physical and/or spiritual) as a prerequisite or condition to be with someone.
Love will NEVER require you to serve as someone's doormat or require you to dumb down or silence your voice (thoughts, opinions, dreams, etc).
Regardless of the emotional wounds someone has it does not give them the right nor permission to wound you as a result of him/her NOT doing THEIR work to heal THEIR wounds.
To remain with someone or in a place where you are ignored, belittled, not valued, not appreciated, supported and/or loved is one of the most unkind, unloving, life-taking acts you can do. Love self enough to walk away...you deserve better. ©. -Misha N. Granado, MPH, MS
