8th Annual We Are Girls Conference: Tell Your Story
Life is about #relationships and the relationship you have with self, determines and influences all of the relationships in your life.
The sooner you learn this and begin to be accountable for your #role in your relationship is when your relationships (especially your relationship with self) will change for the better.
The Power of Words and Names
Many cultures know the importance of names and as such there is an entire naming ceremony dedicated to this practice. I had the opportunity to witness a naming ceremony in Gambia, a celebration actually, filled with all sorts of activities. There is power in words and for many the purpose of the name is to (1) set the babe on a path (purpose) and (2) to serve as a reminder of this life purpose or characteristics each time the name is spoken.
Take a moment and think about the words you use to communicate with others, especially your loved ones. Are they life giving or taking? Kind or mean? Love or fear centered? Encouraging or demeaning? If a 3rd party were to overhear your conversation would it be apparent you two are in a love space or would they assume you are enemies or associates? If your loved one were to #speak to you in the same manner how would you feel?
As for me, Misha has its origins in Old Greek (bee; honey) and Hebrew (who is like God) and is largely used within the Russian culture. What is the meaning of your name? Do you think it is fitting? – Misha N. Granado
