We have been socialized to believe in forever, although there is nothing that supports this (other than Twinkies, those mofos never spoil). Think about it, what in your life is forever? Sure, your mom will always be your mom but has the relationship remained the EXACT same since you were born 🤔
Life is constantly in motion on all levels yet we erroneously believe relationships, life, people and situations are static.
We hold on to very specific moments in time and become angry when people do not remain 'frozen' in this space. As a result many people spend an exorbitant amount of time and energy trying to convince, convert or condemn (The 3 C's) another because they changed (or in some cases haven't changed when and how YOU want them to).
We hold onto pain, past experiences and constantly keep the incident on repeat. This hinders us from being present with and for each other.
It prevents us from really seeing, hearing, connecting, feeling and loving each other. It prevents us from teaching, learning and acquiring the tools we need to evolve into who we are destined to be. It hinders the flow. It's stunts our growth. Misha N Granado, MPH, MS
